Trade Setup
- News over the weekend of HEROMOTOCO investing further in Ather Energy and Nippon India auto ETF buying lead to buying all around in Auto & Auto ancillary stocks.
- Indian market reacted to HDFCBANK & HCLTECH result, ULTRACEMCO result came during market hours which was better then expected. Nifty closed with 50 points gain while Banking ended the day with 150 points cut.
- US Market was closed on 17-Jan-22, Monday. DOW30 futures is trading flat, US 10-year bond yield above 1.80% at fresh high since January 2021. China cuts RRR rate by 10 bps, first time since April 2020.
- Crude Oil continue to trade at 3 months high as demand resumes as fear of OMICRON hurting economic recovery eases.
- SGX Nifty @ 18333 down 17 points at 8:20 AM
Technical View
- Nifty closed above 18272 key resistance level and closed at 18308 level, just 300 points away from all time high. Nifty RSI @ 70.21 & RSI average @ 65.59.
- Nifty at current level is giving mix signal and minor dip to 18067 level could be healthy, we continue to remain cautious.
- Banknifty has shown first sign of weakness after outperforming Nifty in first week of January 2022. Immediate support comes at 37761 and resistance at 38851.
- VIX @ 16.76, trading just above 16 level. VIX seen in 16 – 19 range for some time now.
Stock Updates
- Tata Power: Tata Power Renewable Energy commissioned two Solar Power projects of 50 MW each at Prayagraj, and Banda in Uttar Pradesh.
- Tech Mahindra: The company acquired Com Tec Co IT for Rs 2,627.97 crore including earnouts and synergy linked payouts. It is also investing a cumulative amount of Rs 169.55 crore, in SWFT and Surance, for a 25% ownership in each of the two InsurTech ventures funded by the same founding group as CTC.
- Indian Energy Exchange: The company has executed a Share Purchase Agreement by and between IEX, Indian Oil Corporation and Indian Gas Exchange, subsidiary of the IEX, for sale of 4.93% stake in IGX to IOCL consisting of 36,93,750 equity shares, having a face value of Rs. 10 each.
- Cholamandalam Investment and Finance: The company has signed a Shareholders Agreement and a Share Purchase Agreement with Payswiff, its founders and other existing shareholders to make a strategic investment not exceeding Rs 450 crore. It will hold up to 72.12% of the equity capital of Payswiff on a fully diluted basis and Payswiff consequently will become a subsidiary of the company.
